What counts as a cookie

When we say “cookies,” we mean cookies plus similar storage or identifiers (local storage, SDK IDs, and device identifiers). We treat them all the same way for consent and transparency.

Essential cookies

Required for authentication, session security, cookie choices, fraud prevention, and core gameplay. These cannot be turned off through our preference control because the service cannot function without them.

Performance & analytics

Google Analytics (GA4) helps us understand visits, referrers, page use, engagement, device/browser categories, and approximate geography. Vercel Analytics provides traffic, page-use, performance, and general device or geography measurements. Optional analytics storage is off by default until you opt in.

Preferences

Preference storage remembers choices such as theme, background, notification settings, and whether the Cookie Preferences control is visible. Signed-in players may also have these choices saved to their account.

Marketing & personalization

When enabled, these technologies help deliver and measure advertising and, where allowed, personalize ads.

This includes advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and the DoubleClick ad network, which may use your browsing history across sites to show you relevant ads. To opt out of personalised ads from Google, visit Google Ad Settings. To opt out of interest-based advertising from participating third parties, visit aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page.

Consent controls

We use a consent banner and preference center with granular choices. Non-essential categories are opt-in by default, the Accept and Reject buttons are presented with equal weight, and you can change or withdraw consent at any time. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where supported.

Retention & partners

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies are retained only as long as needed for the stated purpose and are refreshed when you re-consent or update settings. Essential hosting, security, authentication, and network providers remain active because they are needed to deliver the service; optional Google analytics and advertising storage follow your saved consent choices.

Our advertising partner is Google LLC (Google AdSense / DoubleClick). Google's privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy. Google operates under standard contractual clauses and is certified under applicable data transfer frameworks where required.
